From Historic Heritage to a Stylish Mountain House

After a comprehensive renovation, the historic villa shines in new splendor, with modern comfort and alpine charm.
I had long dreamed of finding a historic, traditional house in a prime location in St. Moritz and renovating it with great dedication and love. After some time, I discovered Villa Chantarella – named after the former director’s villa of the Grand Hotel Chantarella, located above St. Moritz – and soon after, the architect was selected.
Villa Chantarella was then subjected to a comprehensive two-year renovation. The architect, the carpenter, and I worked closely together throughout the entire project. After the house was completely gutted and only the listed walls remained, we began the fundamental renovation of the basement, using stilts for stabilization.
The result of all our efforts was a completely redesigned basement with a spacious spa, a wine cellar, a ski room, and a large underground garage. All the selected materials were sourced from the region.
Following the extensive expansion, I transformed the 800-square-meter estate into a stylish mountain house in a modern yet cozy and warm Alpine style.
The transformation of Villa Chantarella required precise and flawless planning from all parties involved.
